Backhaul to many Dunedin sites has been upgraded on Vodafone – are you able to redo your Speed Tests?

I understand Vodafone have upgraded the backhaul to a vast number of sites in Dunedin over the last week or so.

Is there any chance that you can repeat your tests? I would be curious to know what you get now.

All I can say is that in-buildings, I get far FAR better coverage on XT and that is to be expected given their 850Mhz band. 900Mhz is available in SOME Vodafone areas but not in Dunedin City, but the iPhone doesn’t support that anyway.

The Vodafone coverage in buildings deterirorates rapidly and that definitely does decrease usability in “real world day to day usage”.

Nice review there!

From my experience with hosting those Ookla speedtest apps they download different sized files based on a very quick mini test prior to the main test, whether that’s a quick speedtest or latency test I haven’t tested.

How do those speedtests compare with real world day to day usage though? Is there a big difference in usability?
