Wonderful write-up friend! The Playstation 3, I consider is the perfect when it comes to console games. No one can ever defeat it's processing ability, and graphics. It leads the 3rd generation system race and will always be regarded as as a top level to console gaming.

Good Day. To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer. Help me! There is an urgent need for sites: Wall clock. I found only this - http://turbo-tax.biz/. Optimizing your site and content for a search engine, for a better ranking in serps, is known as search engine optimization seo. Here a brief but articulate introduction to the subject of search engine optimization seo increasing visibility on the search engines and achieving a higher. Thanks . Youre gay, period,
That aint an hiperbole, period
Have you ever EVER even touched a 360? or are you just another mad 19 yo bastard who feels upset about spending $500 on something He cant fully enjoy due to fanboyism and crap japanese (sony) politics on exclusives and shit like that
I own both consoles (Had a wii too but man if theres something that really really sucks here is NINTENDO, I dont get why sony fanboys blame on microsoft and viceversa while most of us were playing a n64 10 years ago before those retards betrayed us and sent us into this stupid flaming war on the lolcatsinternets)
But yeah, instead of supporting both console developers related to hardcore gaming everyone just keeps bitching at each other sayin crap like OMG im gonna spend 2 hours writing a 200000 words statement about why 360 is better than ps3 (sry billy its true) .
If anyone here is to be bitch slaped its nintendo, I think both consoles are great I cant really say that Id rather to spend time playing Metal Gear Online than Gears of war BECAUSE BOTH ARE AWSOME and to the retard who quoted Gran turismo....If GT/crysis TAUGHT me ANYTHING was that omgwtfpolarbear graphics dont neccesarly (man my spelling wtf) make good games
Anyone else noticed the ps2 style textures on GTAIV player models while playing cops n crooks? it was an ORGASM of a game though

You actually believe that hyperbole? Almost every word in there is total fiction. A bit lame you can't tell fact from fiction.

The PS3 is simply much more powerfull than the 360, the platform exclusives demonstrate this (i.e. the games that are not compromised by the other system). You cannot compare multi-platform games to determine which console is more powerful, as multi-platform development is all about compromise.

Look at something like Uncharted Drakes Fortune on PS3, it's simply lightyears ahead of what can be done on the 360.

The 360 is on extended life support, and all Microsoft have left in their arsenal, is people like yourself posting FUD on forums.

"RF3590 Says: You guys do Realise that the PS3 is the only home console that runs in native 1080p right? The Xbox didnt even have a HDMI port until the Elite came along! "

Seriously? You're saying that seriously?
The 360 has had NATIVE 1080p since before the PS3 came out - it was added via software patch. You seem to think that 1080p requires HDMI, which is *quite* wrong.
At the very least do some simple fact checking before spewing your retard ideas.

TO Rodney S

forza is a decent game, i am not doubting that i had number 2 and enjoyed it, but let me get one thing straight.

you are comparing GT5 prologue, which was designed as merely a glorified demo of the real game, to a game that has been released as a full and final copy. im not sure if u are aware but the amount of new features that have and will be added to GT 5 prologue expands all the time via the patching system, and its online racing aspect increases in excellance all the time and thus it is super for what it was aimed to portray and puts to shame most full racers.

with regards to the delayof GT 5, i already knew that it was put back to LATE 2009 so that it will be able to take full advantage of the exclusive HOME feature and the new trophy system that will be launched in accordance with HOME, and also make sure that when it is released it is unrivalled again in this console generation. The main reason for the delay is getting the licensing spec for a variety of new cars and concept designs that have been given the go ahead by the head producers of the game, and also to introduce the long awaited feature of vehicle damage which up until now had been unavailable due to the fact that all cars in the game are basically full representations of the real thing, and thus if damage was allowed it would cause people to race virtually the real cars on the playstation and maybe not choose the respective car that didnt perform as well if the person went out to buy it, e.g mercedes over lotus for example, however that has all been ironed out in a satisfactory way now apparently however i do not know the details in depth of the new terms.

Gran Turismo 5 will be the best game of its genre available once it is launched and thus will be in a different league than forza (who to be fair have rushed out sequels to the game after what a year or 2?) whereas GT take their time and deliver the REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR that only the ps3 can support.

Bill your analogy is a good one, because it is similar in so many real life ways that actually took place.

A lot of people talk about how they think the Playstation 3 will experience the same sort of improvement in quality that the Saturn did. But it's important to remember that the jump in quality that people saw on the Saturn was mainly because of the very low quality that was originally produced by the Saturn. If the Saturn actually would have produced decent stuff early on, it would not have gotten credit for any sort of "improvement."

It's the same way with the PS3. If there is an "improvement" that takes place with Playstation 3, the main reason for it will be because the first and second generation software was so very disappointing.

If the Playstation 3 would have produced good games from the beginning, it wouldn't get credit for any sort of "improvement."

The PS3 Madden 09 may be an improvement over Madden 08, because it runs at 60 frames per second in 09 compared to 30 frames per second in 08. But, you need to keep in mind that the Xbox 360 version of Madden ran at 60 frames per second in both 09 and 08. So, Xbox 360 doesn't get credit for any "imrpovement," but that is actually a GREAT THING, because it means no sort of "improvement" was necessary on the Xbox 360.

...and Playstation 3 games will NEVER run at 120 frames per second; they can't even run at 30 frames per second most of the time. And there are games like FEAR that run at less tha 20 frames per second on the PS3 and go into slow-motion like an 8-bit game with screen-flicker.

That nonsense about 120 frames per second, 2 HDMI outputs, 4D graphics, and all that stuff was just more lies from Sony...just like when they said the PS2's amazing "Emotion Engine CPU" was capable of graphics similar to Disney's Toy Story movie...We never saw anything close to that from the PS2.

If you keep that sort of performance exageration in mind, and the disappointment that goes with it, the Playstation 3 is like a Heisman Trophy Winner (due to all the hype), but when it was drafted into the NFL, it was put into jail because of illegal dog-fighting (lie) activities.

Eric L;

Your "analagy" really SUCKS and is 100% incorrect!

Here is a MUCH BETTER analagy:

Playstation 3 is virtually identical to the Sega Saturn: They are both based on parallel processing (which is terrible for videogames) and they both were redesigned at the last minute after seeing the superiority of the competition. This redesign caused both the PS3 and the Saturn to be difficult to develop games for and very expensive to develop games for.

Sega originally wanted the Saturn to be focused on 2D gameplay and cost $199.

But then Sega saw Sony's Playstation for $299; it had 95% of the 2D power, and it added 3D power. Sega was forced to quickly redesign the Saturn. This meant it was not possible to use "custom designed" parts. As a result, the Saturn ended up with a couple of Hitachi SH-2 chips that were very generic and added to the price of the machine so it was $399 and very difficult to develop games for.

Almost IDENTICAL situation happened with the Playstation 3.

Sony originally wanted the PS3 to cost $399 and have TWO of the Cell CPU processors, each with two CPU Threads to send instructions to the 12 SPE subprocessors (6 on each chip). The original design for the PS3 did NOT include a GPU of any kind.

Then, Sony saw the final design of the Xbox 360 in 2005. Sony saw what was literally a revolutionary GPU design based on Unified Shader technology that was custom designed by ATI for the Xbox 360. PC graphics cards did not see this type of technology until January of 2007. This proves how far ahead of its time the new GPU technology was.

After Sony saw the Xbox 360, Sony realized that the Playstation 3 would need to be redesigned so that it included a GPU. Unfortunately, there was not enough time left to custom-design a GPU for the Playstation 3 As a result, the PS3 needed to use a generic GPU from Nvidia, based on technology that had been used in PC graphic cards for over four years.

The decision to add a GPU greatly increased the price of the PS3. Consequently, Sony made the decision to remove one of the two Cell CPU processors. This was a MAJOR MISTAKE, because it meant that the Playstation 3 now only had two CPU Threads to send instructions to 6 SPE Subprocessors! That is very difficult!

This is the reason why Playstation 3 games usually have unsteady framerates.

Programmers have said that type of task is like having to Arms (CPU Threads) but being forced to try and juggle six balls (SPE sub-processors that want to Receive instructions from the CPU).

Xbox 360 is the EXACT opposite. Xbox 360 has a Tri-Core CPU design that is very easy to work with. Xbox 360 has three 3.2Ghz processors, each with two threads for a total of SIX CPU Threads to send instructions with. But the only things developers need to worry about with the Xbox 360 is the CPU Core and the GPU. This is why John Carmack said the Xbox 360 is the best development environment ever.

Xbox 360 has six Arms (CPU Threads) and can easily juggle two balls (CPU Core and GPU).

This is the main reason why Xbox 360 games always have such steady framerates.

The Xbox 360 GPU can display up to 500,000,000 polygons per second, compared to only 275,000,000 polygons per second with the PS3 GPU. This is the reason why a handful of games have run at 30 frames per second on the Playstation 3 and 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360.

For example, Madden 08 ran at a shaky 30 frames per second on PS3, but it ran at a smooth 60 frames per second on Xbox 360. The reason for this is because Madden 08 displayed less than 250,000,000 polygons per second on the PS3. This allowed the Xbox 360 version of Madden 08 to run at TWICE the framerate!!!

In Madden 09 both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions run at 60 frames per second. The reason for this is because the PS3 version displays between 250,000,000 - 275,000,000 polygons per second. Xbox 360 can display up to 500,000,000 polygons per second, which means that any game on the PS3 that displays 250,000,000 or less can be DOUBLED on the Xbox 360, while games that display over 250,000,000 on PS3 cannot be doubled on Xbox 360. As a result, both versions have the same framerate...although, the Xbox 360 version is smoother, since the PS3 version still has hiccups and is unsteady at times.

Both PS3 and Xbox 360 have access to 512MB of RAM, but the Xbox 360 has advantages in several areas:

1. PS3 RAM is divided into CPU RAM and Video RAM. The Video RAM can access the CPU RAM, but the CPU RAM cannot access the Video RAM. This means there are times when RAM is wasted on PS3.

2. Xbox 360 uses Unified RAM, which means the CPU and GPU can access as much RAM as they need at any time. RAM is never wasted on Xbox 360.

3. Xbox 360 also uses 10MB of eDRAM, which is so advanced that not even Windows Vista fully uses it yet. The next version of DirectX will allow PC games to use it.

4. Xbox 360 has a much more efficient Operating System that uses only 32MB of RAM. The PS3 Operating System was designed by Linux and wasts 96MB of RAM. This gives the Xbox 360 a 64MB RAM advantage...and that is another reason why Xbox 360 games often run at higher and smoother framerates.

*** Hideo Kojima of Konami said it best when he pointed out that the Playstation 3 ended up being only one-tenth as powerful as the specifications that Sony released in 2004.

Sony said the Playstation 3 would have 2 HDMI outputs, have games that run at 120 frames per second, have mandatory 1080p resolution, and have "4D" graphics.

In reality, Playstation 3 has only 1 HDMI output, "struggles to run at 30 frames per second" (quoted from Gamespot), often runs at less than 720p, and only "simulates" 3D graphics.

Sega originally wanted the Saturn to be focused on 2D gameplay and cost $199.

But then Sega saw Sony’s Playstation for $299; it had 95% of the 2D power, and it added 3D power. Sega was forced to quickly redesign the Saturn. This meant it was not possible to use “custom designed” parts.

The reason for this is because the PS3 version displays between 250,000,000 – 275,000,000 polygons per second. Xbox 360 can display up to 500,000,000 polygons per second, which means that any game on the PS3 that displays 250,000,000 or less can be DOUBLED on the Xbox 360, while games that display over 250,000,000 on PS3 cannot be doubled on Xbox 360. As a result, both versions have the same framerate…although, the Xbox 360 version is smoother, since the PS3 version still has hiccups and is unsteady at times.

This gives the Xbox 360 a 64MB RAM advantage…and that is another reason why Xbox 360 games often run at higher and smoother framerates.

*** Hideo Kojima of Konami said it best when he pointed out that the Playstation 3 ended up being only one-tenth as powerful as the specifications that Sony released in 2004.

Sony said the Playstation 3 would have 2 HDMI outputs, have games that run at 120 frames per second, have mandatory 1080p resolution, and have “4D” graphics.

In reality, Playstation 3 has only 1 HDMI output, “struggles to run at 30 frames per second” (quoted from Gamespot), often runs at less than 720p, and only “simulates” 3D graphics.

The best racing game ever released up to this point in time is Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox 360.

In case you aren't aware, Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed again. This time Sony says we won't see Gran Turismo 5 until sometime in 2010.

It really is terrible that the Playstation 3 is so difficult to develop games for. The games are delayed so much.

Microsoft is working on Forza Motorsport 3 for the Xbox 360, and it will be released near the time of Gran Turismo 5...so Xbox 360 will come out ahead again.

The great thing is, even if there was no such thing as Forza Motorsport 3, the Xbox 360 has Forza Motorsport 2 right NOW...and it runs at an ultra smooth 60 frames per second in high definition.

Forza Motorsport 2 and Gran Turismo Prologue/5 have some of the same tracks in the game, and graphics comparisons have already been done. Forza Motorsport 2 has much better shading, lighting, and much more polygon detail. One great example is the fact that there are trees that really exist on the tracks in real life, and they are shown in Forza Motorsport 2, but not in Gran Turismo 5.
