With NBA 2K9 released today and NBA Live 09 not too far away, which one are you going to pick up? If you still haven’t decided you might want to head over and have a listen to the latest Sports Anomaly Podcast with the guys from 1UP.com.
They pit both games against each other and have quite a bit to say about EA’s Dynamic DNA vs. 2K Sport’s Living Rosters. Of particular interest was 2K Sport’s ability to release animation packs throughout the season. Lets say Dwayne Wade pulls off some crazy throw down that blows everyone away, 2K Sports have the ability to recreate that movement, animate it, then release it as a downloadable animation pack. Update: Gamasutra’s weekly column, “Saling The World”, provides the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, painting a picture of sales patterns worldwide. This weeks charts show NBA 2K9 destroying NBA Live in the first week gaining the #1 spot in North America on the 360 and the #3 spot on PS3. NBA Live 09 did not feature in any of the top five sellers.
