It’s never going to be enough to satiate my enormous desire to dive deep into the sequel to one of my favourite games of all time, but it’s better than nothing, actually it’s better than a lot of things. Show casing the fact that you will be able to play with 3 friends online as well as creating silly physics based scenarios and use environmental elements as weapons. Video past the break. And we all thought Bungie were going to stop working on them Halo’s. Previously announced Halo: Reach is a prequel to the Halo trilogy and one of the most anticipated ‘exclusive trailers’ at the VGA’s.
The trailer is after the break for your viewing pleasure. To sum it up in a sentence, it shows a group of spartans looking rather organised, set to some epic sounding music.
Along with all the other ‘exclusive trailers’ that were unveiled at the famous (or notorious, ahem) VGA’s, this trailer turned out to be the sequel to this year’s hit action game, Batman: Arkham Asylum. It does seem a bit soon to be announcing a sequel and Rocksteady sure did set themselves up for a difficult task.
Now the real question is where will the game be set? The title still contains Arkham Asylum but it looks like Batman may have the wider Gotham area to prowl. The website, http://arkhamhasmoved.com is perhaps hinting at a new location for the asylum. Only time will tell if this is indeed the case and whether or not it will turn out to be a good move. Trailer after the break. Continue reading
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I spent my pocket money on a wonderful inertia controlled game called Thrust by Firebird. Thrust was a joy of physics, drop your spaceship into impossible caves, and using the thrusters manoeuvre safely through the 2d monochrome passages. The aim was to go and collect some kind of fuel cell and then fly safely out again against a ticking clock. You can tell I loved it.
Fast forward 20 odd years and here we are with Gravity Crash from Just Add Water, which apart from the lack of a pendulum swinging fuel cell being attached to my ship is essentially Thrust 2.0 with a twist.
Games set in WW2 are often looked upon as if they are as archaic as the era that they portray. Parallel universes, monsters and paranormal activities tend to be utilised to gi ve reason to the constant use of this time period, it’s as if such a monumental occurrence in mankind’s history isn’t reason enough, perhaps developers forget that the people involved had faces, names, and families. So it is that the now disbanded Pandemic have approached the WW2 setting in France with a slightly different approach, tell a story of the people involved, create some attachment and give some semblance of reason behind the action, even something that could perhaps be based on an action packed reality.

Left 4 Dead 2. Not a title that appeals to me a great deal. It brings to mind 3 Thrast 3 Thrurious, or whatever they’re calling those awful films these days. I was immediately willing to forgive that however, because it has two things I like very much: cooperative campaign, and zombies. Combined, those things have potential for epic times.
Tekken 6 is Namco’s latest fighting game in the 3d fighting genre. By now, Tekken is looking quite polished and is apparently known as the number one fighting game of all time. To be clear, this is Tekken 6: Blood Rebellion, an updated version of the original Tekken 6 game. The current roster of playable characters stands at 40 (41 if you include Panda!) and the cast contains characters that come right from Tekken 1 to Tekken 5. The game introduces 7 new characters that are all quite unique, except for Jack-6 which is a new and improved version of a previous character.
Everybody’s favourite arcade game is staying up to date with some new downloadable content. Red Lynx have just announced the ‘Trials HD Big Pack’. For those that managed to stomach the controller-breaking-heart-wrenching-monstrosity that is King of the Hill, I’m sure you’ve been craving for something more to do.
Red Lynx also teases us with their trailer for the so-called ‘Big Pack’, which you can find after the jump. Continue reading
