We all know that the world stops working over the holiday period, so this podcast is quite light on news. We make up for that by talking about the 2010 gone by… and then some, because this is potentially the longest podcast we’ve recorded. Enjoy!

Adversity Gaming is bringing an Xbox tournament to Wellington next month, the 15th-16th of January. After all the Auckland tournaments, Wellington finally gets its time in the spotlight! And this tournament is all Xbox. It’s $50 entry, with cash and other prizes up for grabs.

The main tournaments consist of some quite recent games: Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, Tekken 6, and Super Street Fighter IV. There’s also a Crash Team Racing mini competition on the side!

Registrations close this Friday. You can sign up over at their website. I’ll be in attendance competing in Halo: Reach, putting my terrible shooter skills on public display. See you there!

In the year 1499 where hoodies are back in fashion, Ezio Auditore da Firenze thought his days of slaying pesky officials were over. Think again Ezio. We still need you for another game.

The first thing you’ll notice about Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is the name. For some reason Ubisoft Montreal decided to forgo Assassin’s Creed III in favour of Brotherhood.

Maybe because Ezio is back? Maybe they’re sick of numerals? Who knows?

Crazy time of the year. I’m not even talking about games anymore. Things are just crazy. But games are a little crazy too. Like Minecraft. That sounds pretty crazy, and don’t even get me started on the errrr…. let’s call it the ‘adult themed’ game for Kinect.

The bundle is back! After the successful run-through back in May, it looks like they’re at it again. DRM free indie games for PC, Mac and Linux. Starting today already around 52,478 bundles have been purchased so far, the average purchase at $6.97 (at the time of writing).

The bundle comes with the following five games:
Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans.

Pay what you want over at www.humblebundle.com. You will need PayPal, AmazonPayments or Google Checkout. Again you can choose to split the money between the developers and the charities. A good deal if I ever saw one.

This one’s pretty much a roundtable discussion about trailers which contain no gameplay footage and the prospects of the games they’re promoting. There was a planned ending that was meant to mention the amazing box art for the upcoming disc based Super Meatboy release, but that didn’t happen! The ButtonMasher Podcast: Meat free since 105 (and worse for it!)

For your viewing pleasure we’ve got some of the hit trailers from the 2010 Video Game Awards. Not much in the way of actual gameplay, but it’s something to whet your appetite for the games coming out next year and beyond…

Stay tuned as these are updated.

Pac-Man Championship Edition is not a new game. In fact its first appearance was on the Xbox Live Arcade back in June 2007. Developed by the original Pac-Man creator, Tōru Iwatani.

This is a straight PSN port. No added bonuses or anything after all this time, which is a little insulting. I’ve already bought the game twice before; first on 360, later on iPhone. I love me some Pac-Man.
