As you all know Rock Band has just been released in New Zealand – just in time for Rock Band 2. While the Rock Band 2 instrument set with fancy new drums will be months away from formal release in New Zealand, F1rst Games has been working hard to bring New Zealanders the Rock Band 2 software.
Pre-orders are now open, which will excite new owners of Rock Band as well as those planning on purchasing the Guitar Hero: World Tour kit. At $109.99 delivered, this means that a $269 Rock Band 1 package plus the Rock Band 2 game comes in at $379 – $20 less than Guitar Hero: World Tour, and enough to score some of the DLC now available.
Xbox 360 owners are free to mix and match software and hardware, but unfortunately for PS3 owners there appears to be no sign of the patch that will be required for the Guitar Hero: World Tour drum kit to work with the Rock Band software.
Rock Band 2 is due to release on November 21 in Europe.

2K have announced a new feature for this years NBA title, live player updates. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise to those that have heard the announcement of EA’s intentions to create a similar service called Dynamic DNA.
Every year we get a new Tiger Woods golf title, and every year since ‘03 I have written a review. Every year I say the same thing, that the graphical limitations haven’t been pushed, that there are plenty of graphical and aural glitches, and that all in all the game is basically the same game as the year before. The jump into the new generation of gaming saw two changes over the platforms. PS3 and 360 got graphical upgrades and the Wii got motion controls. But the game essentially stayed the same.
