teach you to have a mac. You can probably track down a copy of the windows 7 beta somewhere. i think they might have stopped it (MS), but sure you can find it

OK I have steam running via crossover games. When I want to get counter strike source it says $19.99. Is that NZD or USD?

If im gonna run pc games on my mac under boot camp I need to know what the graphics card I have in can handle. Is a
ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO 256Mb graphics any good? What sort of level of game graphics can I expect to run using this? |

Pretty good card for older games but for high end gaming you need something with like 512 mb or higher so I'd say just based on that maybe medium graphics for some of the later games (1-2 years) and for the todays ones maybe low to medium with no slow down.

Those of you who are PC savvy, can you tell me what a good starting gaming rig would be? Something thats easily upgradable too. Im looking to get more into PC gaming and frankly, if I can't upgrade my Mac im gonna be at a loss in the end. Any desktops from Noel's or DSE that would be ok?

OEM is cheaper because it is licensed to be used on a SINGLE machine. Previously you had to purchase significant hardware (eg. a mobo) in order to be eligible to buy an OEM version but now you can just buy it off the shelf subject to the "one single machine use only" rule. That means you cannot just delete it from your PC and then install onto a second (eg. a replacement) PC. You CAN however do this with a "full retail" version (ie. non-OEM). Student discounts are available but I'm not sure where to get them. They are listed as "academic pricing" and should be able to be searched for at Pricespy. Generally it means you get the "Professional" version of the software at the price of the "Home" edition. Also you might get a "full" version rather than just an "upgrade" which requires a former eligible Windows OS to be currently installed. |
