Default Games For Windows - Live.

Was forced to install this with a couple of Steam titles I purchased. Initially thought it was just another piece of bloat-ware. That was until DOW 2 started adding Achievements to my account.

And today they added Games On Demand to it. Ironically cheaper that the Games On Demand on the Xbox. Shadowrun and Viva Pinata for $15 each. And even a little puzzle game (a la Chips Challenge) for free with 200 Achievement Points.

I like how my PC and Xbox 360 gaming has been tied together with one profile.

Yeh I noticed that a few days ago when I downloaded Dirt 2. it's pretty cool, and you can talk to other xbox mashers in a private chat, but you can't start a party with them which is rats :S. It also adds the current game you're playing to your xbox gamertag thing.

Except when you can't retrieve your password for your xbox gamertag so you have to make a new one for the pc and can't get the achievements on your xbox one

it's had a bit of a rocky history on the pc but it has been starting to turn the corner ever since dawn of war 2 and the subsequent dropping of the stupid gold and silver tiers. there is definitely a steady influx of games on the pc now using games for windows live. I would definitely take it over gamespy which was terrible with borderlands on the pc. hopefully microsoft continue to improve it since they have abandoned everything else in pc gaming (closing down of Ensemble,FASA,Flight Simulator studios)

I had Tinker on Vista but I've re-downloaded it for Win7 so it's on my gamercard

Sebly, how did you forget the password for your windows live account email associated with your gamercard? It must be possible to retrieve it somehow...

Well my xbox gamertag is linked to my very first hotmail account which I must have made at least 10 years ago and I can't for the life of me remember the password for it and whenever I try to do the retrieve password thing I can't solve my secret question.

It's 'My favourite Super Hero'. I tried all the standard ones, fuck knows what I was thinking back then

I saw this on Major Nelsons blog....

"Everyone should check out the free copy of Tinker that is available now for download as Major suggested. If you experience any issues downloading it though, please ensure you are on the use Microsoft Points tab instead of credit card before purchasing."

Enjoy!

I know it's a bit of a dirty word around here recently but if you got an eb games near you I would recommend checking it out. I was in there last weekend and with their xmas sale on a lot of pc games were half price so you might find a few cheap ones that fit your tastes. I can't remember the price but I saw a company of heroes pack that had the first game and the second one in it.
