Default Midnight Launches

How many of you guys are into midnight launch parties for big titles? Would you attend if it meant you could have your copy at midnight?

I love them, but haven't been to one since I bought my Xbox 360 console at launch from Gameplanet

Nah, far too old for that shit these days. I'll just have a great nights sleep, and collect my game at 9am the following morning, thanks

I recall some tosswad wearing his Xbox Live Mic to the Halo 2 launch - that's the last one i went to.

Last midnight launch I went to was for GTAIV. Was awesome getting home a little after midnight, playing it for a couple of hours and then feeling shit the next day for work.

I'm with Faceache; too old for it now.

Lols tosswad. I think they're cool (in a geeky way) but the people who go to them are all too geeky for me. I went to one once... because guitar hero world tour just happened to be released on the same day as a world of warcraft thing. It was pretty WoWy in there.

But yeah nah... I'd rather buy the game from the cheapest place the next day. I'm generally not even a "day one" kind of guy anyway; I wait for a price drop if I buy a game at all.

The last couple of games I've pre-ordered that have had midnight launches, I've told myself that I wouldn't bother. But then it gets close to midnight, I'm still awake and the store's not far away, so I cave

It's not the end of the world for me if I miss a midnight launch, but I'm definitely a day-one gamer. Hate the feeling that I'm missing out/trailing behind others

^This is what happened to me for GTA:IV and Halo3...

MW2 was a case of "have to play" and I travelled 70-odd Km to get it even though I had a MW2 console coming the next day

Was totally worth it just to meet Maucrephy and Sparky irl... so sexy!

I have never bothered pre-ordering games, but I have pre-order Halo CE Anniversary and if there is a midnight launch I might go (and take my oldest son with me).

I rocked up at the wii midnight launch with no pre-order with my older brother. We were going to just see what the wii was like in the flesh since everyone was saying it was sold out everywhere in nz. We got a huge shock when we got to the store and could actually buy one and even got offered to buy a 2nd one as well.

I've never really lived close enough to a store to be bothered to go to midnight launches (made one exception for wii launch) but now I do so if there is one for bf3 I will probably go to the midnight launch of that
