I haven't traded in a game for about ten years or so. I would usually use Trade Me but seeing as I'm getting rid of a whole chunk of games I don't really want all the hassle.
Which store would I better off in dealing with? ie. Which store gives the most money! JB-Hifi or EB Games? |

I have traded quite a few and feel you get more from EB games but then the usefulness of the credit could argueably be less. Best value for money is when EB does +50% type deals when preordering. Combine with +15% from Edge Card and can get a fair bit of cash....then use price match on the preordered games and win win for everyone!
Jbhifi trade prices can be good on some titles. But EBs special deals and the edge card usually result in more value. Personal experience....YMMV |

Are there any that Mashers might buy?

EB's new website lets you email them for trade prices - i'd start there, then take the list into JB's and get prices from them - whoever gives you the most, or has the best value for money in terms of what you want to trade for, is who i'd go with.
I had 3 games at EB - $98 trade value. Same 3 at JB - $138. That was my last "Trade 3 get it free" deal that i did for Rage. |

Unless it's brand new, the big stores normally give you less then half of what you'd get on tard me.

Walked into JB-Hifi today, the clerk got halfway through my pile before that told me they only trade for in-store credit.
Ended up at EBGames on Cuba (noticed the old Gamesman is gone as well as cash converters). Made sure to specify cash this time. Made about $400. Could have made more on TradeMe etc. but I just couldn't be bothered with all the postage and things. |

Well there's a mixture of platforms in there.
$2.50 for some PSP games. Doesn't worry me too much. Just wanted to get rid of them! |

I traded in 5 really old games at JB's to get Skyrim and got $60 which is about what I wanted for them. I got less for 4 of them then I hoped but got $25 for Call Of Duty 3 which I thought was fairly good.

Yeah, there are some times when convenience just wins. Sure, you could probably get more by selling on Tard Me, but imagine managing 46 auctions and then having to courier off 46 games!

And nothing is stopping you from selling in groups (e.g. $20 for 4 PSP games looks like and AWESOME deal and is still double what you got).

If you're happy with the trade-off then that's what counts. I've made a mint selling old games on trademe that I wouldn't have got even close to trading in at EB. It's how I've managed to afford most of my toys :P
I also quite enjoy watching the auctions tick over. It's quite a bit of effort setting up the auctions, especially if you put the kind of detail required to get a good price. But I think it's worth it. |
