Sorry he sold it the same night for $1100.

You looking for another one? iPad 2 HD rumoured for Xmas season. Maybe at a higher price point.

I don't think you'll see it in 2011. iPad 2 is selling like gangbusters—they're selling as many as they can make. There will definitely be a retina display model but that'll be the iPad 3 in March/April 2012.

Regarding the 'pro version' that's been talked about: they will probably expand the iPad product line at some point, like they did with iPod—especially that Apple considers this the future of computing and that they're making way more money on iPads than Macs. But I think they're more likely go to a lower price point before going higher—especially when Amazon's cheap-as-chips ad-sibsidised tablet comes out to give the iPad the first real run for it's money.

Has anyone noticed recently how Google on Safari has changed?

It's showing far bigger searchbox, and not as many searches when scrolling, also the text
seems a lot bigger, might be ok with people who have difficulty reading fine print,

but wheres the options!! to put it back to how it was, this annoys me!

I'll have to check it out on my wife's iPad when I get home.

I prefer the full Google search site to the mobile one, so if they've made the iPad version like that then it'll be dumb. The iPad is as capable as—and in some cases better than—a desktop browser so I don't see why they have to change it from that.

Mind you, it might have something to do with the way the Google search site now operates, maybe it doesn't fit the iPad UX very well. The way that it animates the search bar from the centre of the screen to the top and gives you live results.

Does the new iPad version have live results?

Does anyone know anywhere good to source iPad 2 covers? I don't want the smart cover (just doesn't suit my needs) but battling to find anything decent otherwise. Wanting some sort of decent transport cover and a stand of some kind. Have found a couple of good american ones but don't ship direct and would be a mission to arrange through my friend over in US so a simpler option would be preferred.

The smart cover is awesome in the way that it's integrated with the device design, but the major flaw is that it doesn't protect the back.

My wife has a smart cover on it all the time, and puts it in a laptop-style zip up sleeve to protect the whole thing when it's in her bag. Works like a treat.

The thing about full-body cases is that they all make the device look ugly :P
Full body cases make EVERY device look ugly.

I'd personally rather have a scratched gadget that looks awesome all the time, than cover it up and have it only look awesome to the person who owns it next.

Just tested this on my wife's iPad 2 and I get the full Google site and the same number of search results per page as on the desktop. The only difference between the two is that only the desktop browser has live-results.

Maybe Google Search in general has changed the quantity and layout of their search results.

Yeah i think google tinkered with Google on Safari, things have changed, txt sizing, searchbar is larger, less displaying of content it seems streamlined but horrible now.

Smart cover would just be an expensive stand for me. Some sort of canvas slip would be good for travel and then some sort of stand. Not keen on a full body case as definitely makes it look ugly.

I think here in New Zealand we've got a distinct lack of high-quality cases and accessories. On the blogs I follow I see recommendations for product cases and accessories fairly often, and they're always available only in the US. You'll have to be prepared to import.

Also, any cases that I've seen that have built in stands are all ugly as hell. It's the nature of integrating a stand into a case. Which is why I think Smart Cover + Sleeve is the best way to go.

This is a great sleeve I've seen recommended a lot: http://sfbags.com/products/ipad-case...tcase-ipad.php

Weird. I get the same Google.com site with the same search results in Safari for iPad as I do with Safari, Chrome and Firefox on my computer.

When you go to google.com on your iPad, do you get redirected to 'https://encrypted.google.com/' instead?
This HTTPS Google.com beta has limited functionality compared to the normal site.

^^ Nope just google.co.nz but it's definitley changed and i haven't changed settings/font
size either, i'm guessing it's for tablets for easier reading, but they should at least give
Me the settings to revert back.

Are you logged into your Google identity by default when you browse on your iPad? Maybe Google changes the site if you're a Google user that's logged in?
