Default Mario Kart 7

Man, I've been looking forward to this way too much. I presume all Masher 3DS owners will pick this one up?

Could actually be the first chance to interact with those of you on my friends list

Absolutely! I can imagine I will be playing hours and hours of this when it's here.

It's really looking like they're adding some great features to the social aspect of the game. Not sure if we'll be getting friend chat/invite in the new update but that would be icing on the cake. Those communities sound interesting too. We should set up a private BM one so we can play each other easily without having to exchange friends codes with everyone.

Be great to finally have something to play on it again, although I did cave in and buy Starship Patrol (dsi ware). Really enjoying it.

Never been interested in Mario Kart. The only thing that makes me even a little interested in this one is how close it seems to be to the old Diddy Kong Racing on N64. Now THAT game was amazing.
I do love the look of the community stuff for it though. I might have to up the data on my iPhone plan just so I can tether my 3DS to it.

Mario Kart is the bomb, especially now that you can play online and get a game when you want.

I find there's something so damn charming and joyous about it but at the same time be very hectic and heart pounding.

Personally, I'd say it's my quintessential Nintendo franchise.

Mario Kart DS was the best so far in my opinion. Mostly because of the great single-cartridge multiplayer modes. I couldn't really get into Mario Kart Wii.

Yeah, I agree with Accidental.

Played a ton of splitscreen Mario Kart 64 (which was my introduction to the series).

Borrowed Mario Kart DS off Newsy late last year and LOVED it. Borrowed Mario Kart Wii off another friend and, well, yeah, it didn't really grab me as much.

Mario Kart 7, based on appearances only, seems to have more in common with Mario Kart DS to me. I'm far more excited about this than Super Mario Land 3D.

I haven't figured it out yet but I have found myself getting less and less interested in the 3d Mario's. I liked SM64 and LOVED sunshine but SMG a bit less and I haven't felt like finishing SMG2. Still, my friend will be getting SM 3D Land so I'll definitely borrow it and give it a whirl. Come to think of it, this is the first real 3D Mario on a handheld right (discounting the sm64 port)?

So a bunch of reviews have dropped. A few of the sites that I trust have said that it doesn't really bring much to the table.

http://www.1up.com/reviews/mario-kart-7-3ds

http://www.destructoid.com/review-ma...7-216484.phtml

Personally, that's not a big deal for me, as this will be the first Mario Kart game that I've owned. I'm convinced that I'll still have a blast with it. But for series stalwarts, it sounds as though it might not be super impressive.

I'm gonna start a Buttonmasher community for this some time tomorrow.

I believe it creates a code that members will have to add, so I'll try to post it here once it's live

Well i can confirm this game seriously rocks! Tried out the online and it works a treat, no lag at all against people in England and Japan. The only thing that's annoying as hell, is the
amount of times the blue shell drops so you lose leads a lot and it's quite a gamble on the winner at the end, close races make the best races lol Very fun so far, despite some pretty average reviews about it.

I'm having trouble getting online Can't connect to any matches, and it won't let me start a community until I've joined a community first...

Fun game, though!

EDIT: Really frustrating problem re: the online thing. It searches for a match ad infinitum and then gives up, producing a certain error code. When you search for the error code on the Nintendo site, it says that the 3DS can't connect to my access point. And yet I can connect to the e-shop without issue, and a network test is also always successful :/

So no one else is getting the same problem as me? I spent ages yesterday playing around with my router's settings, but nothing's worked so far

I've searched around the net a lot, and it seems like quite a few people have the same problem, but there doesn't appear to be a known fix yet.

Is anyone else able to set up a Buttonmasher community in the meantime? I'm keen to see if I can at least join that...
