Biggest Kickstarter campaign yet at nearly $10MIL!
Looks like a really neat wee gadget. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ne-and-android |

Damn, that's super-cool; if i had any spare funds, i'd likely back that. I suppose a cool $10mil is probably enough to bring a product like this to market.
"Close to entering production" - excellent! ![]() |

Loke the update where the dude shows the invoice for $1m dollars for two component parts! Would seriously consider a distributors pack.....
And windows Phone 7 support please! |

Yeah it looks great. The only gripe I have is that the e-ink screen is such low-resolution that all the text is very blocky. It's like a 1989 gameboy screen but e-ink. And considering the interface is heavily typographic that's a big issue for a picky designer like me.
You can't really tell in the video or photos though unless you look closely or download the press pack high-res images so I suspect many people haven't even considered this. |

That wouldn't be an issue for me; functionality trumps form everytime. I wouldn't buy a red car just because it's red. I would buy one car over another because the cup-holders were better though
![]() As long as i could read the text, i don't think i'd care about it being blocky. |

Apart from being a little more difficult to read there's also the problem of being able to display less information on the display than would otherwise be possible with a higher resolution display. A better display would also increase the possibilities for Pebble apps that they are encouraging developers to build. Totally awesome for a first run product though. They wouldn't get away with releasing a v.2 without increasing that resolution though. Just you wait, it'll be the primary gripe in much of the reviews when it finally ships. |

Yeah you're probably right, but there's not many '1st generation' products i buy at launch anyway; they're often overpriced, and quickly replaced with a better, cheaper version. As it is, it's still a very cool piece of kit.
If i did buy it, i'm just saying that the lower resolution likely wouldn't be an issue for me, at least initially anyway. And it's not a product i'd buy without first seeing it and having a play with it. I certainly wouldn't take a chance on buying it online. As Viv has mentioned, will be interesting to see what it's priced at. |

If it's decent quality, that' still a pretty good price for a 'watch'.

Maybe i'll give it a miss then; if i wanted to be like all the other cool kiddies i'd have an iDevice by now
I'm anti-cool. Or the anti-Christ. One of them anyway. ![]() It's late, ... i'm tired. |
