Cursed my way throughthe final boss for an hour or so last night, then felt shortchanged by:
  • A Measly 20 GS Points!
  • There's no new game+ to carry over your chips.
  • Thought I had been playing on Hard through blood, sweat and tears only to find out it was actually on Normal...

Boss fights give me the shits - glad i'm playing it on 'Easy'

I see this is $49 at Mighty Ape today, for the Xbox 360 version; good price. Still cheaper at nzgameshop.com though, at $51, when you take into account shipping charges. Wait is a bit longer than with MA. Still, if you haven't bought Syndicate by now, time is probably not of the essence, and a few more days won't hurt.

The boss with the Missile launcher gave me the hardest time.

There might not be any newgame+ modebut u can replay the chapters with your current upgrades on Hard or higher.

Some of the achievements associated with the bosses are a little bit rough. The one where you've got to kill the stealth guy without using DART or EMP devices was annoying, it just took too long to whittle him down.

Damn, only 150,000 copies worldwide. I think the developer makes a valid point - they were kinda rooted no matter which direction they took.

I think it's a real shame, TBH. Despite how hard it was/is, i really enjoyed it. Well, the co-op aspect anyway. I haven't, and probably won't, bother with the single-player; I hate stupid boss fights, even just the very first one gave me the shits.

Yeah, and they threw them a friggin hospital pass getting them to release so close to Mass Effect 3.
They're right to be proud, I had a cracker of a time with it, and despite the lower budget (which kind of shows around some edges) it punches above its weight.

THIS.

I was surprised that it never came up in that interview, but I guess it would be uncouth for him to badmouth EA over a decision like that. Or I guess the journalist simply didn't think to ask?

It also annoys me no end when people write this game off purely because it turned its back on the third-person, isometric, strategy gameplay of the original.

Maybe it would have been cool to see something like that, and maybe it could have worked. But that's no reason to rubbish this game. Not the best example, but it's a little bit like getting mad that Halo Wars wasn't an FPS :/

I don't know, maybe if they'd added a subtitle or something, it would have alleviated fan concerns/distanced itself enough from the original. "Syndicate: Gunshooter"

I'm yet to play this, BUT love Starbreeze stuff..Riddick etc.. so def will. Whats the story with the bass fights, are they just brutal or glitchy?

They're... not the game's best feature, by any stretch :P

A combination of kinda difficult, a bit of a grind and not particularly interesting is how I would describe them.

I was fine with them, personally. I mean, they're boss fights. You're up against someone stronger and you have to be skillful and/or utilise some kind of trick to beat them. Standard fare really...

...but then Wugga is a Boss himself.

Chris summed it up - very grindy, but I gather if you upgrade to the right chips they can be much easier.

Yeah, i agree, along with the fact that everyone seems to yell "They're turned it into an [i]FPS[/]?!?! Oh the blasphemy!!", when it's actually much deeper than your average FPS, what with all the apps, weapon upgrading and breaching/hacking.

I've only done the first boss, as i say, and only on Normal difficulty; i'm loathe to progress the single-player, lest the frustrating boss fights make me hate the game. And i love the multiplayer, so i don't want to hate

Let us know when you do purchase it Browncoat, we can get into some multiplayer.
