Man, some good prices in that sale. Would be dead keen to get Alpha Protocol, but i've already been going hard on purchases i can't really afford, even though they're super-cheap (i'm looking at you, Vanquish and Crysis 2, not to mention todays download of Cold Stream).

I think Alpha Protocol might be a bit too RPG for me too; Tel, you played the shit outta it, is it any good?

I love it.

The talking/skill/mission part of the game is really solid. Things you do and the order you do them can really change the story up.
But the game part of it is really clunky. The shooting is a bit off, the controls are a bit floaty and sometimes the stealth system doesn't work quite right. It's not as bad as some reviews made it out to be - some people seemed confused about why, after putting no points into the pistol skill, they couldn't hit **** with the pistol.

The patch did fix this up a bit, but you are very much looking at Mass Effect 1 style gun-play and not ME3 style gun-play.

At the end of the day... $10.
That's one BK combo.

I might see if the home-boss will let me get it; i actually have no problem with ME1's gunplay (and i also don't have any issue with the handling of the Mako!)

As you say, $10; even if i only get one 3 hour play session out of it before i lose interest, it's still better value than a movie (not that movies are bad, or that you're an idiot for liking them, more that i'm a poor student these days, so need better value for money for my entertainment dollar).

One valid complaint is that the openning areas are fairly linear. But the game does eventually open up a little.
Also, the game is stat based... pick one weapon and try to level it up first
(or avoid all weapons or go stealth). Puting one or two points into a weapon will just piss you off.

I like the idea of sticking with one gun and increasing it's effectiveness. Kinda what i've done with Borderlands; i'm level 60+, but still using a level 30-something machine gun.

Warhammer Space Marine at $15 in that sale is a steal and awesome game. Anyone gets it I would be keen for some multiplayer too.

I concur with Dingo's Space Marine recommendation. $15 is a no brainer.
