LAN party ideas!

Hey Guys!
Im looking at hooking up a LAN party for me and my mates birthdays!
and im just wondering as it being my first has anyone got any ideas around making it a awesome success?
we got gears2 on the agenda of course
and Guitar Hero as well!
but i was just hoping any tips!
