Default Resistance 2

Well I was just wondering how you guys are feeling about the game?
What are you looking forward to the most and will you be ordering the awesome collectors edition from Play Asia?

Personally I can't wait to kill the good old leviathan and *rubs hands together* Play Asia is preparing my order as we speak I should get it on Friday or Monday !! It's kind of a shame NZ gets a delayed release date :S. Looks like I'll get it about two weeks before you guys.

Is the only reason you chaps buy from Play Asia because you get it sooner? the prices seem quite high!

Given what R2 is doing for multiplayer there could have been a separate review on that alone.

When I am talking about the weapons the graphics and the sound it is not just the single player campaign that I am talking about.

To be honest Closesecond the multiplayer is pretty standard fare nowadays. Almost everyother shotter has a class system so other than the size of the mulitplayer and the clan system (which people seem to be leaving out) it is much the same so if you like the mechanics from the single player they will translate into the online.

Would you be happier with the review if I proclaimed it was the greatest game ever? It seems you might be a little unhappy with it because I simply didn't get much of a kick from playing it.

Resistance doesnt appeal to everyone. I loved the first even though The whole time playing it I felt it should be considered avg. But it just clicked with me. More than games like halo and gear which follow quite a different aproach. It doesnt amaze me at all having played the first that the same would go here.
Basicly the franchise can be described as the tried and true of fps done excellently but not daring to go outside the boundries of that formula. By sticking with that they give a very polished experience and I know I will love it.
On the other end of the spectrum is mirrors edge showing you can give a great and new experience to players.
Cant wait to play both. My wallet though

Yip, that's pretty much the crux of it. The story is very average but the presentation is stunning. But like Halo it is a little floaty and the weapons are a bit lacking other than one or two.

I have no problem that you did not enjoy the game which comes across loud and clear in your review. But the review does little to discuss some of the games real strengths, many of which are based around multi-player and co-op.

Tell me, how many other PS3 games present such a solid co-op mode? How many other PS3 games offer 60 player battles?

R2 is easily one of the best titles released on the PS3 in the FPS genre and it should be commended for that fact. But the review comes across as though it was written by someone who didn't want to write it because they didn't really enjoy the game.

With the current economic climate we need more fact and less opinion so that we can make informed purchased. Cause lets face it, these games aren't cheap!

I don't know what review you're reading but from someone who hasn't played the first Resistance or know anything about R2, the review helped me a lot.
Brian seemed fairly impressed with what the engine was doing, there was mention of separate co-op missions (although I'm sure most gamers would have preferred the whole game co-op), rather disappointing, but big, bosses and even detailed the weapons.
Sure he didn't go into detail about multiplayer, but do you REALLY believe there'll be any full NZ servers? Multiplayer is multiplayer. Heard of one, you've basically heard of them all.... especially when it comes to shooters.

Perhaps they should use a PS3 only owner to write their PS3 reviews.

So, based on the last comment all reviews could be replaced with something like:

Another FPS was released today.

By the way, I own a 360 and PS3 but only game on-line with the PS3 as its free.
