Default Laser Eye Surgery

Anyone had it done recently?

The glasses thread got me thinking about it. Saw an Auckland site that quotes 5k for it, does that seem normal?

As i said in glasses thread, my dad/nana have had it, and swear by it.
nana was legally blind less than 2 years ago, now has perfect vision.

so yeah, i'd say its worth it.

as for the quote, i know it cost my dad alot more than that.

In Bangkok it costs 2600 for both eyes. Would just need to get the flight over for a cheap price.....

I was quoted $2800 per eye by the Eye Institute in Remuera. Good money in fixing eyes. A Maserati Gran Tourismo, Aston Martin DB9 and a E55 AMG where in the doctors parking spaces while I was there.

I think it is only possible with certain 'stable' types of eye conditions. Not sure which ones, my brother-in-law has had it and swears by it.

I guess it comes down to how much money you put on a good standard of living and your eyes...

The Bangkok deal is cheap because they steal a kidney at the same time!

lol, it would be difficult for them to steal a kidney while you're awake like you are for this procedure

5k sounds right, and count me in for a group deal, this is something I told myself I would do when I was 25!

My wife had her eyes done by a specialist in Wellington. Don't forget the other incidentals they add in for keeping your eyeballs well lubricated and maintained. Cost us somewhere around 6-7k - preferred not to keep track of it in the end...

But, what kind of price can you place on sight? She had an astigmatism which made her see things as narrow and tall. You can imagine her surprise when she saw me for the first time with her 'new' eyes...

Ha, that would be funny.

The place I went to said the price includes everything, medications, follow up visits etc etc.
