As part of a 3 for $10 I watched the new version of The Hitcher this weekend.
Sean Bean is miserable compared to Rutger Hauer, the film has none of the sense of psychological threat or sinister overtones that made the original a classic back in the day. They did try to skew the story a little and give it a twist, but it just does not work and it mean the removal of the classic chip/finger/ketchup scene. Please, Hollywood, for the love of God - stop throwing money at projects like this.... ![]() |

Can't believe he did Blind Fury though, I just couldn't come to terms with him being a good guy.

But you see Rutger and you just think he's going to go psycho and kill the kid!! Or pull out his Escape from Sobibor Russian accent (that's busting out an old movie)

He did do the 'good guy' in Ladyhawke, but fared much better in a 'badass/good guy' in the Flesh and Blood type role.
Of course Bladerunner would be nothing without him 'seeing things you people wouldnt believe'. Also, Legend of the Holy Drinker was a chance to show some worthiness. |

That was Matthew Broderick in that movie too (Ladyhawke) as the stable boy or whatever he was.
