From memory, the original endings were (comparatively) super short, gave no context as to what happened to the rest of the galaxy, your squadmates etc, and left lots of things unexplained (like how/WHY the crewmates that were with you on Earth for the last stand made it to the Normandy and escaped) etc.

The worst thing was that all three endings were mostly identical. The colour of the light that emanated from the mass relays was different depending on the choice. If you chose "synthesis," the organic characters that emerged from the Normandy had a half organic/half robot look about them.

Here's a YouTube video that compares the original "Destroy" ending with that of the extended cut:

Gotta ask yourself why they dropped the ball first time round. The new ending was solid. Ya think EA got in the mix??

Finished off the Leviathan DLC last night - it was pretty damn sweet! It features a revelation that provided some pretty awesome story context that makes a lot of sense of other stuff, too.

When I finished it, I thought, why is this not part of the main game? It seems pretty important to the core story of the series. Still, great fun.

Leviathan was pretty awesome i thought. Really figured it would make a good multiplayer map too

Speaking of the multiplayer, I started getting back into that this week. So much has changed since I last played it well over a year ago! Awesome new maps, new characters, classes, enemies etc. So much new stuff going on.

Last night I started a new VOLUS character

Hoping there is a ME3 DLC sale sometime soon! Keen to get those DLCs and play through them.

Leviathan is currently 800 points, presumably down from 1200. The others are still 1200 each, though.
