A splitter creates 2 feeds from 1, a switcher creates 1 input from 2.

So I believe he would want a switcher? But yeah, I have one and it has to be powered

Can't overstate this enough.

Page 2 and noone has yet asked for make/model of monitor. Would take the guesswork out of this if it was clear what the monitor is/isn't capable of.
