yeah he was an army dude who did some cool stuff and got the Victorian Cross (VC) for it. VC = Medal of Honour. Most prestigious medal or whatever.

But seriously, mad props to the man. I agree, he is right up there as the 'Hero of NZ' after the passing of Sir Ed.

More guys like him and the country would be a better place, and we could invade the US with one squad! ;p

Man, the most awesome thing just happened. I had to take Lauren back for a quick cast check this morning and Willie Apiata was walking out again. This time I managed to apologise for not saying anything yesterday, shake his hand, and talk.

I am just BUZZING at the moment

He is pretty tall. I am 6ft and he is a bit taller than I am. Definitely the NZer I most wanted to meet. Truely insipiring.

Lauren is all good. She was fairly grumpy with me yesterday cause I told her she couldn't go to preschool. A bag of chips and a lollipop got me in the good books tho.
