Nope, everything of mine is ethernet. It's 3 PC's, most likely peeps who dont keep their antivirus up to date. McAfee even told me that one PC which attempted to access my network didn't have up to date anti-virus. What can you do about this? Who do you call?

So it's coming from the internet. I had something similar not too long ago. I got some professional advice on it and was told that it was most likely hackers trying to gain access to my network via an open port. Essentially just trying the doorknob to see if it's locked or not.

Was told to make sure my antivirus and firewall were up-to-date and enabled respectively, which i did. Stopped after a couple of days.

It's been going on for a few weeks now. It's the same PC's too, McAfee always alerts me when it's denies them access. Happens prob once-twice a week.

Make sure your firewalls up, get there mac adress and block it if you can, else setup a static IP address and only allow these IPs and block all the rest.

Yeah I'm totally protected, I have no worries there at all. Just wondering what I can do with those IP addys McAfee has got for me. Only IP's which can access my network belong to the 360 and PS3.

Screw that shit. I'm glad I use a mac when I hear about this stuff.

What sort of stuff do these dudes do when they get access to someone's network?

No point finding their IP address, if they're able to even try to get into your computer, they'll be using some form of identity mask; proxy etc

Evil, how is your network setup? I cant help you with such little info.

Also, Accidental - macs are just as vunruble as PC's, it's just that there are so few of them that no one gives a shit about them - but their market share is picking up which will make them a bigger target.

Cable signal comes into my modem, from there the signal goes to the router, then to the pc, 360 and PS3. McAfee will only allow who I say to connect to my network thank god.

Also Spyware on your computer can act as a ping attack which can give off false info like telling you its someone accessing your comp when infact its the spyware.
