I'm loving it, but as an old school Fallout fan, I'd say it's not really "fallout 3".
I'd rather have had it called Fallout: Vault 101 - set it apart from the core series. But it's better then Oblivion was, that's for sure... As for the price - I paid $100 for gears, and finsihed it in eight hours. $140 for a game that looks like it will be 60-80 hours? Fuck, yeah.

I was holding out for a RPG fix in FO3, but with the Warehouse having Fable 2 at $88 that might be my next purchase instead. How has the co-op in Fable been? for those in the Know

Let me know how long it takes to finish, my money is on it being less than 20 hours (which is far less than what I spent playing Gears in it's first month after release) |

$140, that is ridiculous for a game. I'd refuse to buy any game for that price

![]() I'm 11 hours in and hardly even touched the 'main' missions yet (only done one). I haven't been taking it slow, I've just been too busy with side quests and exploring. The wasteland is massive. Been mostly good so far.... although I REALLY hated the 'blood lines' quest... I felt like I was playing an Oblivion mod as it shoe-horned a Oblivon feature into the Fallout world. Didn't fit at all. ![]() I was glad to cross that one off. Other then that, it's been happy-joy feelings all day. Sneaking through ruins, picking off raiders, meeting other explorers..... Good times.

This is the first hardcore RPG I've played in ages.
No handing you stuff, no auto-leveling and not always leading you by then hand. It's a game that will sometimes say: Suck it up, or die. From the PS3 Fallout post, my short tip list. A few quick hints: * Sometimes running or sneaking is the way through * If an area is kicking your ass, come back later * Don't just follow the misions - hunting raiders is a great way to build xp and weapons. * It can be cheaper to find a new gun then repair an old one, unless you're repairing it yourself. * The first little area you visit has an old school - clean it out. Take everything, and when you are carrying everything you can go back and sell it (don't leave crap lying there - you'll need the credits). * Lastly - check my xbox profile, and if there are any quests I've finished that you'd like help with, shoot me a message.
