Telltale Games and Lucas Arts have announced 5 Monkey Island games releasing in their usual episodic ways!

And Lucas Arts have re-made the original The Secret of Monkey Island!

Coming to Wii Ware and PC. No 360 unfortunately...
Edit: But The Secret of Monkey Island remake is coming to XBLA.

Ok so the 5 part episodic series is called Tales of Monkey Island, coming to PC and Wii Ware, in 3D similar to Escape From Monkey Island. And it is being developed by many people who have worked on Monkey Island games, other Lucas Arts adventure games and even The Secret of Monkey Island!

Monkey Island: Special Edition is essentially the same game as The Secret of Monkey Island, re-done hand-drawn graphics and now has voice-overs. Another cool feature lets you switch back and forth between the orginal and the new version at any time during play. And it's coming to XBLA!

yep I've played all the monkey islands those are some top quality point and click I'll be getting this for sure (hope it gets put on steam)

Good to see they have Dominic Armato bringing his voice to the remake. And is it just me or does the new one for Wii look TERRIBLE? I mean, that's some student reel modelling going on there.

I know what you mean, to me the graphics looked worse than Escape From Monkey Island! I think Telltale's engine might be getting dated.

Ive been playing Monkey Island 2 on my Ipod its such a great game

have had to look at a guide a few times

I so liked Monkey Island games. To those who played them on a PC sadly they were not anywhere near as good as on the Amiga. The PC couldn't handle the sound or graphics back then.

To those of us who had Amiga's this is a treat.

Now what about Simon The Sorcerer or Beneath A Steel Sky?

I have to ask..... why did they cast Vanilla Ice as the reference for the remake of Guybrush? Seriously, what's up with the hair?

SOOOOO glad they got Dominic Armato to return for the voice. I couldn't imagine anyone else voicing him now.
