Yeah BOB is awesome. My favourite episode in the series is Crossroads. I think that is episode 5. Richard Winters has got some balls. I think I've watched just that episode 20 times or more.

Just got "Beyond Band of Brothers" which is Major Richard Winters memoires written with
Colonel Cole G Kingseed, and "With the Old Breed" by Eugene Sledge who is one of the main guys in Pacific.

It looks like they will both be interesting reads.

RIP Dick Winters.

I concur BOB is better. The Pacific was pretty good but too much time spent on characters in Melbourne. Boring as.

Saw that the other day. He'll never be forgotten with the series which I'm sure will remain popular for a long time to come.

The Pacific drew on a few books. With the old Breed was one. Its a bit different from the historian accounts as its a personal memoire written by a front line soldier. The other book was Helmet for My Pillow written by Robert Leckie which is also a personal memoire. He is the one that hooks up with the girl in Melbourne.

Also in Whitcoulls yesterday I picked up four books from Stephen Ambrose that were on special for $9.99 each. They were called D-Day, Citizen Soldier, Victors of World War II and Pegasus Bridge. I have no idea if they are any good but at $10 I figured what the hell.

:Head Slap: And just remembered your in Aussie so Whitcoulls specials are of no use to you :-/
