I'm not a fan of having nothing to do in terms of earning money. My record for not having a job is 3 weeks. I wonder if I'll top that.

Going around a few restaurants today to see if I can find a part time position.

Best of luck Brian. To succeed in life you need passion and food certainly sounds like your passion. Of course the buttonmasher BBQ's could take on a whole new meaning... We can be your guinea pigs for new recipes!!!

I also feel a bit happy that your not at Telecom cause someone is going to feel my wrath soon and at least it won't be you Bloody mobile is doing some weird stuff again!

As I said, Brian, when you find somewhere, we should all come to the restaurant and get your suggested items of food

Unless you ahh, are shy about that kind of thing or something (can't imagine that's a problem!)

Yip, sounds like a plan.

I have a trail run (for me and them) on Friday night at a local place

Went pretty well. Did some basic prep work then helped out with the entree's and then the deserts. Worked from 4-9:30 and feel pretty nackered now after a fairly long day with the kids getting things pulled out of noses and then the bloody hot kitchen.

Looking forward to learning more about the different sauces and marinades.

OneZB, it's above Tables on the River on Alma St across the road from the Novatel Tainui. TBH until I started looking for a place to work I hadn't been there cause I could never believe it was a restaurant and not radio station. But because I was looking for somewhere good I did a bit of reading and found places that had won awards and got consistant reviews.

Nice place.
About one of the only resturants i havent been to with the lady.

I'm also after a job now too.
Got qualified (builder) end of last year. and now with the market
as it is there is no work, been layed off 3 times.

Looking for somthing outside of building, main problem for me
being i don't know what i'll be good at, im 20 years old and a qualified builder.
It's all i've done, started at 16.

Yeah dst, couldn't you get some kind of home handy-man type thing up and running as a going concern? Might mean you'd have to also mow a few lawns, but at least you'd still be working outside. I assume you dig that what with being a builder and all.
