Unfortunately the demo has no tutorial whatsoever so jumping into a match with only the knowledge of what your controller-config screen says the buttons do is a death-wish...a reoccurring one...Being in a party of friends we were able to compare, assist each other with controls and experiment with tactics so it was a great introduction to the game.

Also, we figured out you can choose species at the start of the match (limited to only 2x Predators per-lobby though) and since then I've concentrated on learning just how to control and fully utilize the talents of the (very powerful) Predator.

My last game as a 'Preddy' I got 28 kills, 11 of them in a row, and the meanest triple-kill with his ninja-star-thingy

People may have been put off this by its very slow matchmaking search-times(5+mins to find a match) so I'll try organize another friendly...who wants inv's?

Personally, I found the matchmaking to be tolerable given that the party-leader gets host (a feature MANY games would benefit from) and the other few times I haven't been in a party it's...eventually..found me an Aussie host.
Regardless, they're working on a fix for matchmaking as I type...yanks must've complained...

Very true i now know how escape being killed by the hummans, how to spawn kill a predator and kill humans who go for the machine gun.

Hella fun with friends/organisation.
tbh though, as discussed at the mashup, without friends online, it's really not the same.
I guess similar to L4D, unless you have mates to play with it's pretty dull.

The 2-3 games i played with friends were sweet, others not so much.

So yeah, the reviews that have been rolling in for this have been a little... disappointing? I'm having second thoughts about rushing out to buy this.

That said, I really did enjoy the multiplayer when I got to check it out for myself.

EDIT: Ouch - Gamespot positively savaged this game with a 5.5!

In all fairness though leggetron, he said he didn't like the Predator because you had to be stealthy ...... he obviously has no clue what a predator is or what they do. So i wouldn't taken his evaluation too seriously, he's companing about it not being a general run of the mill FPS which is crazy talk.

Yeah, I mean, I can handle an isolated, anomaly review - but the general lukewarm reception the game seems to be getting so far has my alarm bells sounding slightly is all. Game Informer also gave it a 5.75/10. The best review I've seen so far is a (respectable) 8.5 from IGN UK.

Still, it's early days. But I guess I'm trying to say that this has changed from insta-purchase to "wait and see" for me.

Well it won't be a total AAA title but it's a cool MP and SP game. It's really more up to whether you like a good horror title and you love decapitating shit and owning your friends in the awesome MP.

Edit: Looking at the PC reviews it's really weird, one guy will say the games saving grace is the xenomorphs and Predators campaign and the next one will say the Marine campaign was the only good part and the other 2/3rds were crap. http://www.metacritic.com/games/plat...0vs%20predator
