Hi I don't like paying full price and I know a lot of you guys don't either. So on behalf of my fellow ButtonMashers I have stockpiled a bunch of $20 iTunes cards purchased on special for 20% off (ie. $16 each).
That means that you effectively get a 20% discount on any music or Apps or books you buy from the Apple Store. The idea here is that when there are 20% off sales (which happen occasionally at The Warehouse, and Dick Smith), you can go and buy your own $20 iTunes cards while the sales are on. But what happens when you need something from the Apple store and there is no sale? Well that's when you can utilise my stockpile and buy them at the discounted price of $16 (I'm not making any money here, simply helping out the community). How does it work? If you are interested in buying one or more cards, simply send me a PM telling me how many $20 cards you want. I'll confirm that I have enough available, and send you my bank details. You pay $16 per card, and once the payment has cleared (overnight for Monday to Friday as long as you beat your bank's cut-off time, or Tuesday morning for all weekend payments), then I'll PM you the code(s) for your iTunes credit. I have the cards stored here so that if there are any problems they will be sorted out with the store I bought them at (but they all have "activation successful" confirmation receipts so there should be no hassles at all). At my discretion I may send you the codes before payment has official cleared but this is not an advertised feature of this service. Happy buying Buttonmasher community!

Aaron do you buy using credit card currently?
Could you please PM me your average spending over time (if you wouldn't mind). In fact anyone is free to PM me their average spending if they are interested. I need to know this information because I need to know how much I will have to stockpile. I am happy to do so and not charge for the privilege but we need to ensure that we would have enough "critical mass" to get this off the ground. As far as I can see, everyone wins. I put up the capital outlay but in return get access to cheap cards on the few occasions I need them (and therefore don't get left with a stockpile that I risk having to sell off). Everyone else gets access to cheap cards when it suits them, not when it suits stores to have a special on. Of course the 20% discount is subject to availability and subject to change, but I have seen DSE offer this at least 3 times now in the past 6 months. |

Yeah aware of those but 2 (relative) problems are that it happens less frequently and every time I've seen them fly off the shelves so it would be harder for me to stockpile for BM. The difference is only $1 on a $20 card ($15 instead of $16)
Mriceguy do you buy a lot and would you be interested in this scheme? Obviously partaking doesn't commit you to a minimum spend and doesn't stop you buying them on special at the Warehouse or wherever else. |

I guess that's the strategy. Spread the love.
I stockpile as many as I'm able to buy when there are specials. The discount then gets applied when BMers are in times of spending need (which may fall outside of retail discounting periods). |

Viva? Accidental? Are you big spenders and do you currently use CC or some discounted method?

We buy stuff now and again.
Last time I got the cards I got them on that deal from JBHifi. From memory the 40$ lasted about 2-3months. |

If one or two people confirm then I'll go ahead and see what I can stockpile for all of us.
I trust everyone that's posted so far enough that I wouldn't forsee anyone "pulling out" of this so I don't think it should be too risky. If you've already posted and want to retract your interest do let me know ![]() Of course the bottom line is that you aren't commiting to anything except for an interest to buy these discounted cards (while stocks remain). |

I buy stuff from Itunes occasionally. Would do it more if it was cheaper for sure. Count me in, but not for a massive amount

By the way, these cards are currently at Dick Smith for 20% off so if there is any immediate need for them, I would suggest that you buy them from DSE yourself directly.
Based on the interest above I will stockpile some for BM so that once the sale finishes people can continue to have access to cheap codes. I'll need to check the T&Cs on the card but pretty sure I read today that the cards are valid for at least 12 months if not 24 months. |

I usually just buy with my credit card, so I'd be keen for this Ahmad. Good thinking mate
![]() In terms of my spending, it's not that high now that I've stopped implulse-buying a game or two every week and never playing them :P I've had a look at my purchase history and I probably average $15-$20 a month. I'd probably buy more albums if I wasn't getting so much free music now from various single-of-the-week and iTunes samplers. If there was someone who could regularly hook me up with US iTunes store vouchers though I'd be over the f**king moon. |
