Apparently SOHO will have it screen in two weeks time, which isn't too bad. If I had Sky I'd splash out for it.
But I refuse to get a massive sky package and SOHO for one show. Get your content on quick-flix and I'll be all over it.

So Me and my wife started watching through season 1 this week. 2 eps left to go. I was watching along with the US when it started, but alas, missed an episode and...life happened.
Love it though. I was reading through the books a year or two ago, but when i got half way through book 2, I realised that the old farted hasnt written jack shit in years. So, seeing as hes old, I decided to see if he would actually ever make it to the end. Guess he gets pretty busy during books. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPX5mRSQ3pw Last edited by sock merchant; 21-04-2012 at 01:09 PM. |

On the bright side,he has notes that outline his plans. Apparently he briefed the TV guys on what his plans were to avoid them cutting out anyone too important or taking a character somewhere they were never supposed to go.

They actually talked about that in the commentary – sounds like his role is being combined with Jhaqo.
While the first series was pretty darn close to the book, they’ve said that for the future books the increased scope means that they are going to have to try and keep the number of characters somewhat more manageable. That’s the sort of statement that would normally make me mad, but I’ve been watching with some folk who haven’t read the books and we have to stop every now and then to clarify who is who. Another obvious example is that Bronn has taken over from Jacelyn Bywater.

Yeah fair enough. It starts to get pretty huge. My friend is having a hard time with Feast For Crows due to all the new naratives. I guess its easier with TV to show an event without having to add a character to view it

Rach and I finished season 1 last night. Ready to dive into season 2 tonight. Good times.
HBO really did a pretty stellar job adapting it. I dont mind them having to combine some roles etc. Epic fantasy tends to get out of control with characters, and from memory they are going to have to introduce another ass load for season 2. |
