This. I have some great games on PS3, but at 10pm I'm scared to put them in and spend half an hour watching a progress bar.

To be fair, you can just skip the updates if all you're wanting is a quick blat.

God forbid when we start getting components and IC's in the mail...

"Please remove side cover and fit the 10uF capacitor between pin 5 of IC6 and R23"

"This will decrease your loading time."

Wii load times are not horrendous but definintely not fast IMO. The (necessary) move to larger discs has come at a cost.

The worst experience I ever had in this regard was WWE RAW on original xbox. you put the disc in the console and it wouldn't even load far enough into the game for it to run. THQ had to get Microsoft to release a -system- update, like for everyone, for the game to even work. and if you didn't have xbox live, or connected to the net, you were totally screwed.

and the game was crap, too. lol.

Yeah I remember that shit for RAW too

One of the worst patching (well non patching) experience was with another THQ game WWF no mercy on N64

Shit was before patching was even dreamed of,'had the game for 2 days and EB games rang me and asked if I could bring the game back due to not being able to save anything
And glitches galore! Sent it back and they never got stock of a repaired copy so I got a refund!

Suuuuucked too the game was apparently the best wrestling game of it's generation
