Fired the bedroom PS3 up the other day to record something on Play TV - update required *sigh*. So version 3.70 now; removed TVNZ On Demand?

I wonder why? Anyone got any ideas?

The TVNZ On Demand 'app' is appalling.

Wife only uses it to watch the occasional episode of Shortland Street when Play TV has it's period and decides it doesn't want to record that day, even though it's fully scheduled. Never had ay problems with it, TBH.

My wife complains like crazy about it! When it's working it's barely usable and has so many stupid bugs that should simply not exist. It doesn't help that the the normal TVNZ OnDemand player is a piece of crap.

Shit flash-based media player designed for a mouse + PS3 browser + not really an app = shit app.

You don't have to be particularly sensitive to be annoyed when it won't go full screen, or freeze up, or having big white boxes covering half the screen, or losing functionality of the button-mapping! Haha.

Never had any problems when my parents used it to watch Coronation St on the 50inch samsung. It was actually really good.

Yeah, the few times the missus has watched Shorty Street it's been fine. Surprisingly stable, and decent quality.

God must hate you guys. Loves us tho

This is the first I've heard of people having generally pleasant experiences with it!

I use it quite alot, its rubbish, sometimes things load other times it doesnt, sometimes it loads then plays half and forgets theres more chapters...but....

the most annoying thing of fuckin all is the ads that pop up then finish and you HAVE TO move the analog controller to make the screen box disappear, which means you have to baby the console through the hole program holding the controller close by.

I've had problems getting it to play sometimes, but it's nto been too bad. It's definitely a shitty port of a web based flash player designed for a mouse, not the controller though. It's really not user friendly and that quality reflects kind of negatively on the PS3 for having it so prominently on the XMB.

I think the latest update created a new category called 'TV/Video Services' and it's inside a folder in there.
