Since i'm on this retro-kick thing at the moment.........

Would love to find one of these that you could put a normal simcard in. Wouldn't even be worried about whether it could do anything but just make phone calls. Phone calls - anyone remember those?

Heh, no wonder that Osborne Computer that Accidental mentioned the other day failed;

Is it just me or does it resemble the base to a replicator from Stargate.

That wasn't dis-similar to the c64 portable. A friend of mine had one of these and it was cool playing C64 games at work on it.

And what's this about stacking two 1541 drives - two meh - had four stacked up for copying and playing multidisc games. No disk swapping cause it just read off each drive as needed.

Who reckons they could make one of these but for ping pong balls?

I just found this link that tells how they work.

Ping pongs dont shoot very well due to them being very light.

They shoot across a house well enough. I used to have something similar to this. Its to torment the cat.

The marshmallows work well because they have a good consistency to squish into the tube space and fill the gaps so no air can get past them, leading to good firing action. They're also covered in powder which makes them easy for the air to push them out.

Ping pong ball shooters, from memory, operate differently where the loaded ball sits against a rubber ring which seals the air behind it allowing enough air pressure to build up to pop it out past the rubber ring.

Meh. A joey gun will fire anything and much better. Chances are you have what you need to make one lying around the house and bullets are plentiful as size is all that matters.

Going off of the design in the second link I came up with a hybrid design of that and a pac cannon, not as rapid fire but should scare the shit out of the cat.
