So as near as I can tell, the Buttonmasher platoon I created during the beta no longer exists. I'll create another, I guess. More pointless hassle.

Just had my first crash

I should install something to check my temperatures, maybe. I can hear something beeping at me, it's f'n annoying... I think it's something Origin's doing.

During the beta I found that manually increasing my graphics card fan speed seemed to help the stability.

I'm having trouble making my gravatar update the dudes. I might give it a minute to do its thing.

Ugh, so my video is crashing a lot. Well, the game is crashing; I presume it's video as it seems to run but won't display anything. Going back to 285.38 beta driver... We'll see how that goes. It didn't fix anything so I've clean installed the newest ones again... and now I can't access battlelog? ~___~ BF3's been quite a disappointment so far. In game it's great, but I have spent far more time out of game and not being able to get in. I can't believe that I'm not allowed to start the game for single player because their servers are being arse. I can believe it, but it's really sad. I'm going to go play on the PS3 and hate on EA/Dice/Origin now.

DICE games tend to be horrifically bad at launch. I was prepared for this.

The performance is weird. I get good framerates on ultra, but every now and then it'll slow down hard out. Turned down AA, anisotropic filtering and stuff like that a bit and it seems better. I just updated my graphics driver though, so it'll probably be horrible when I try again.

Got it! I downclocked and turned off all sorts of stuff, and it seems the memory overclock on my 560 GTX was causing the crashing.. I just got 30 minutes solid of play time without crashing Now I can start turning all the other stuff back up.

Playing on PC is exciting. [retracted] gigabyte overclocked nvidia cards are also exciting.

(edit: I retract my earlier unflattering adjective because I found the card runs stably and produces a respectable 70+ frames on high settings when the GPU is clocked up to 1100MHz, from the out-of-the-box 900 overclock. I can now start enjoying this game.)

edit 2: no, wait, it's not stable anymore. Back to the underclock.

My settings are mostly high, with a couple things on ultra and AA and motion blur nerfed. Runs nice on my HD5850, but I'm still increasing the fan speed in case it's preventing the crashes I was getting.

The only problems I'm having are connection issues. The kicked by admin error being the main one. After dicking about in the guts of Punkbuster I think I've got it under control. Time will tell.

Finally been on this with Freekill for a bit but haven't seen many/any other mashers on? What happened? Has Skyrim dominated your minds for now? It almost got me :P

The Xboxers are carving up with all teamwork and what-not. It'd be nice if we could do the same :<
