Whut, I can't even complete the first menhir stage. That's the first one? Yeah, too hard. I see it's not random, so could be beaten through trial and memorisation. Derp I suck though. I really keep meaning to finish that off but have not yet managed to spare the game time.

It's not pure random, no, but it is randomly sampling based on a few presets per level. Then there's a degree of your influence that randomises it further (though that can only go so far as central blocks will continue to reform the outer structure).

Menhir's actually the second, Altar is the first. Menhir is slightly longer, and I guess the developers felt that because the formations are smaller, it's more difficult. In practise though, because the formations are smaller, you spend less time searching for the optimal path, so I actually cleared it before Altar.

bump. Just posting this because this Rapunzel level had me stuck for an hour today, which is less than some levels but I finally gave up and searched for an answer. No way I would've ever completed it anyway, I reckon, after finding how counterintuitive the solution was. ~___~

Yeah solutions that involve spidering around the back are really hard to find. Probably because you can't see the blocks that need to be used...

I know, I never got the hang of the spiders around 2-wide columns, and yeah, in Rapunzel you can't even change the camera angle at all. Plus this one involved some extra stuff, just to make it horrible.

Fun game though. I only have 10 Rapunzel stages left; I'll totally finish them off sometime... yup.

I turned Catherine back on last night, super fun game.
I really want to beat it for a platinum but the final few things are *insanely* hard and frustrating.

Lol Gotta play some more. love it. I wonder when they're making a new game the same but newer.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I've got all the story mode difficulty related achievements, but the endings and Rapunzel related ones I haven't had the time/patience for. Oh and Babel. Though I think the last stage is glitched or something, from what I've read.

Oh wow bro, you got all the golds on hard? Impressive!!!

o_o Babel eh.. I can't even do one >_< I'm not very good, I reckon. Well, I get stuck in the same patterns I always do.
(edit: I remembmered I got a friend to play 2-player on the Babels and we cleared one pretty easily despite her not having played the game before.... I should get her back for the rest of them >__>)

I wonder where I was up to with Rapunzel. I shall check it out.

I just had the clever thought of watching a runthrough for the boss baby (inquisition end) I'm stuck on atm... but it's kind of depressing watching it, knowing I'm not good enough to get that gold. Like.. those are some decent moves which are completely unintuitive for me.

I'm not going to lie, I had to turn to Youtube a couple of times because the solution was either mind-splosion causing, or some sort of secretive hidden-away spring block that I'd never have found on my own.
Can't fake Babel though; Menhir is actually easier than Altar in some ways (I think I've already said in this thread?) because it's narrower, so the possible configuration of blocks is a little more limited, and I think there's a couple of key moves that will get you through most of them. I think there's a wiki somewhere with some solid tips on how to approach some pretty common but tricky situations.

Yeh I'm youtubing now. I was pretty pissed off when I got all the coins without breaking the combo but still scored silver though!! >_<
Anyway, got my first gold... wishing I'd youtubed earlier, as it's teaching me some smarts.

I suppose I can save the smarts for Babeling.

Um... Yeh so I've done all the rapunzels though, except for the secret thing. I seem to recall I only had to youtube a couple of them >_>' That's not too bad.
Yeh we've talked about this in this thread. How nostalgic.

edit: got my third gold for hard nightmare stages, but they're only going to get harder.. ._.

Nice! That's WAY more braggable than completing the first two Babel stages. Rapunzel is friggin mind bending.
You mentioned wanting a sequel? Since its the Persona team, I'm sure we'll see Persona 5 before Catherine 2: Revenge Of The Catherining Catherines of Cathernon.

Yeh I've been very interested in the Persona series since playing this, but it's all on PS2 or older. :-(

I watched an ep of the anime too but it was average.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm !
There have been a few titles which piqued my interest.

I played a demo of one and hated the tiny little screen though, so idk. I don't reckon I will... :-/

Also, regarding Catherine and Rapunzel, turns out I've actually not finished them all. I'm really only just over half way and thoroughly stuck.
It might be youtube time.
