Haha
I just freakin drop the damn things. Do want a better bottle. And kegging system. And new mash tun. And brewing sculpture. And somewhere to put all this. My temp controller arrived today. Picked up a jiffy box, connector strip, outlets, wires etc. will wire it up tonight. Then I can finally do some lagers. Though no lagers are to be found in my top 10 (or top 50 probably) beer list so it hasn't been a major drama. Might do a Munich or bock or something with flavor soon |

So made me a temp controller box today. Pretty easy. Should have done it a while ago. Only set up for cooling. Dont really need heating at this point.

Nice. Wired into a fridge ?
Mau does some tasty lagers. His Munich and Darkside are awesome I was looking at a 23L PET carboy from Brewers Coop. Works out to be $70 shipped |

Yeah just has power thingy at back so can plug it into whatever, but yes, plugged into fridge. When i get a heatpad I'll wire up a warming connection as well.
I freakin love belgian beer man. 80% of what i brew is belgian. There is so much variety in that country, and i just cant get enough of it. I dont mind lager/pilsner, but they are freakin tasteless in comparison ![]() They will definitely challenge my brewing skills though, so keen to give it a try. SUre Mr Randy Mosher can inspire me to brew something interesting Not a bad price. I like brewers coop. I go there quite often. Think they are $60 in the shop, so $10 shipping aint bad. I'll be making a stir plate soon too. The shake as you walk method has worked fine, but yeah :P Last edited by sock merchant; 13-03-2012 at 12:53 AM. |

For fermenting beer of for yeast starter ? Or neither
![]() Im holding off doin a brew 'til I get my mash tun from Mr Banks. Will hopefully be back by the end of this week. Will upgrade my kettle to a 50L after that Just found out that flights for our honeymoon will be 1/2 what we thought they'd be so hopefully that equates to more brewing funds ![]() |

Haha for starters of course
![]() I'm naughty and dont do them all the time. For big beers I make a starter and then have my flask siting next to me for most of a day. I shake it up every couple of minutes. Pain in the ass but it works. My tripel has come down from 1.080 to 1.012 in a week. Still has krausen. Hope it's done. Don't want it going much lower. |

Looks like what I'm gonna do. Big fan, some rare earth magnets and an adjustable power adapter to control speed. Should be quick and easy

Man i am very undecided on my next brew. I have a fermenter free again so itchin to brew. Will probably leave it for a week or so.
Will probably do a session pale ale soon. The beer in the cupboard ranges from 9.5 to 7%. When my tripel finishes i will probably do a belgian dubble or belgian stong dark. I have a shitload (a tuly staggering amount) of awesome belgian yeast sitting in my fermenter. Might as well get some use out of it. Want to do a pilsner or lager and get some use out of my swanky new controller, but i think i'm gonna get another fermenter for that. Seeing it will be tying it up for longer. |
