9.0 from IGN Maybe the demo was a bad idea before release if it hasn't justified how good the game is. Might try demo again tonight and maybe i'll get a review copy. If nothing else i'll be playing Darkness II this week. |

Looks like it's the only web review out atm, so sounds like a web exclusive review + IGN = take that 90 with a serious grain of salt.
Metacritic's also got the OXM (print) review score up - 80. From that demo, I definitely know enough that this is a game that I personally shall give the old swerve. No amount of crunch-time tweaking could turn it around for me... |

I need to run through it again to make sure I unlock the Mass Effect 3 weapon properly anyway.

And make sure you're online/connected to the EA servers when you're playing it, otherwise you won't unlock anything

It sounds a lot like Skyrim to me. I've still tons to do in Skyrim, so this might have to take a back seat until i can pick it up cheaply somewhere. But i have to admit, it does sound (and look) very nice indeed.

Going to wait for a Daily Deal later in the year. Geez, I still have to get Skyrim yet anyway. |

GameSpot just gave this a 7.5, and man they are copping some flak over it. Seems Kevin VanOrd is a bit of a Skyrim fan, and this hasn't really gelled with him.
Sounds like Fable-on-Speed with a better combat system (like it's difficult to beat a one-button-bash-a-thon anyway!). I loved the open-worldness of Skyrim, and i'm enjoying Fallout 3. Not sure i'll enjoy the style of Amalur's 'open world' - lots of separate areas, joined by corridors, with loading in-between each. To me, that seems a bit like the Borderlands style, which actually worked quite well. So anyone played the actual finished game itself? |
