Wow, a member of Parliament who actually understands the term "Software download". Nice change from the 'series of tube' thing.

Yep, basic economics dictates that lower the price, more you sell.

If Games on Demand were more throwaway prices, MS would get more of my money. Lets be honest the catalogue is peppered with games that you would try out for a weekend if it was going to cost about $10, it's not like they are going to keep chruning through retail.

But according to MS their GoD is working fine.

Microsoft, however, point to the popularity of the Games on Demand service as evidence that it works. It’s a profitable model, so they see no need to change it.

Yep, the key thing here being my money. Would they rather get $10 of my money for an older game, or would they prefer $0? Because that's the reality of it, for me anyway.

Sure, it might still be profitable for them with it's current pricing structure, but one would think they would be keen on it being even more profitable.

As the good Cap'n points out, i'd be more likely to take a chance on not liking a $10 game than a $50 game (or even a $30 game), especially with no resale value.

i agree why not just make it all in say USD then no complaints by anyone, and likewise they should be looking at exchange rates for games aswell. i mean some brand new games are up at $150 nzd compared to the same in the states for $60usd, since when has the usd been more than double nzd, not for a long time now
and as with what GaR was saying, Valve makes a f load on deals and other discounted prices of games, and you dont see them saying, no sorry were charging extra because your not from america (like at the moment batman arkham city, $14.99 USD its still retailing for $60 nz.....)

Actually, Steam charges NZ users a lot than Americans more for some titles. BLOPS2 preorder? $100USD.
