Smile Big Bucket of E3

Curtains go up tomorrow, thought a single thread for discussions of awesome, pics, links and platform envy would be the way to go.

You may or may not be aware, Wugga is 'on the ground' keep up to date with his fast food intake, shopping, taxi rides, freebies and a bit of E3 on Twitter here:

@Wugga

Not forgetting there are a few other BM friendly NZ Media people floating around too - the mighty Leggetron for one.

I have an E3 list which I change each year, this covers a few NZ/AUS journos and I will add to it if somebody is missing. E3List

The Pre-E3 Nintendo Direct today was AWESOME. Made me go from skeptical about the console to a day 1 purchase. These guys will be giving me an online experience I've wanted (and partially blogged about) for some time now. That mixed with HD versions of the franchises I love..... yeap... I'm sold.

Man what a slooooooow video that was. Only the most loyal or bored Nintendo fans could make it through the whole thing. But the nuggets of new info was great! One thing I've always liked about Nintendo is that they try to make things delightful. They're very late to the online party with 'Miiverse' but it sure looks very fleshed out, polished and extremely delightful. I'm not sure I'll buy day one but I'll gladly pick it up over the next Playstation or Xbox if it gets the multiplatform support it deserves.

How did Wugg get into the States?

I thought he was still on the "no fly" list (there was an incident some years back when he tried to sell a half eaten chicken drum stick on ebay, it had belonged to someone famous in the gaming world).

Note: the above comment may or may not be true.

I am watching the Playstation press thing even though I fully expect it to be not relevant to my interests. :-|

Did anyone see this?
Looks like something from a movie rather than a game.

Looks insane! Mind you cutscenes — in real-time engine or not — always look better than gameplay because of dynamic camerawork and editing that isn't possible during gameplay.

So is it over yet? I hate this time of the year ..... sure, i guess it's cool seeing how well each companies press release stacks up against their competition, but otherwise it all just seems to be rah-rah-rah hype BS to me.

Every videogame website is just clogged with E3 crap.
